The steel’s microstructure comprises a soft ferrite matrix with a fine and dispersed hard phase of martensite or bainite (typically around 15%). As a result, the steel exhibits a yield strength ratio of ≤ 0.75 and displays an excellent balance between strength and plasticity, with high elongation and work hardening rate.
